North Texas
The first pro grappling franchise in North Texas.
The Professional Grappling Federation has franchise teams in seven cities, including Houston. Dallas is the eighth.
Carlos Machado started teaching jiu-jitsu here in 1995. This is the first time North Texas has a professional team competing under its own name.
How the league works
PGF is a professional league, not a tournament. Each team keeps five athletes and drafts five more. The draft is January 17, 2027. The season runs 2 live nights a week for 6 weeks, across 5 weight classes.

Compete
The road to the Season 10 draft runs through Dallas.
One day, five weight classes, submission only. Win your division and you are in the draft pool.
- Win your division and you are guaranteed a spot in the Season 10 draft pool.
- Winning does not lock a Mustangs contract. Roster calls happen at the January 17, 2027 draft.
- A division closes once 16 athletes are in it.
- Register and pay on Smoothcomp. That page is the only way in.
Who is building it
Meet the team leadership.
Carlos Machado has taught jiu-jitsu in Dallas and Fort Worth for thirty years and coached in PGF Season 7. Lindsay Machado brings the creative direction and the systems that run it. Together they own and operate the Machado Method Jiu-Jitsu Association. Roger Perez manages the team.
- Carlos Machado Owner 8th Degree Coral Belt and a legend of the sport. Thirty years teaching in North Texas and a PGF Season 7 coach.
- Lindsay Machado Owner Creative direction and the management systems behind the team. She has owned and run Machado Method Carrollton and the Machado Method Jiu-Jitsu Association with Carlos for 25 years.
- Roger Perez Team Manager Machado black belt, director of the Machado Method Jiu-Jitsu Association and owner of Dynamic Martial Arts Center. Twenty years in the Air Force.
